Gita Jayanti | Gita Mahotsav – 11 December 2024

ABOUT GITA JAYANTI

Gita Jayanti is the day when Lord Shri Krishna told the Gita to Arjuna. It is celebrated on Shukla Ekadashi on the 11th day of the Margashirsha month of the Hindu calendar. The Bhagavad Gita was described by Lord Krishna himself before the Mahabharata war began. It is believed that in the Mahabharata, the seeds of the Pandavas and the Kauravas had decided to go to war even after every possible reconciliation effort.

The ‘Bhagavad Gita’ was revealed by Krishna himself to Arjuna at the battlefield of Kurukshetra. Now this place is called Kurukshetra in the Indian state of Haryana. Kurukshetra is the holy and main religious place of Hindus. This book is written by the third person. Which was narrated by Sanjay to King Dhritarashtra, because the Gita was described between Lord Krishna and Arjuna. Sanjay was blessed and empowered by his teacher, Ved Vyas, that he could see the events in the battlefield from a distance.

Geeta Jayanti is celebrated as a festival. The festival of Gita Jayanti is celebrated all over the world by all the devotees of Lord Krishna. The Gita contains about 700 verses that provide knowledge to many humans about many important aspects of life. Those who want to progress spiritually study the Gita.

In the year 2022, Gita Jayanti will be celebrated on 3 December 2022 and it will be the 5159th birthday of the holy book, Bhagwat Gita.

HISTORY AND SIGNIFICANCE

Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is one of the holiest texts of Hindus. According to Mahabharata, Lord Krishna narrated the message of the Gita to Arjuna in the Kurukshetra war. Monotheism, Karma Yoga, Dhyan Yoga, and Bhakti Yoga have been discussed very beautifully in the Bhagavad Gita. It also tells about Yama-Niyama and Dharma-Karma. The Gita itself says that Brahm (God) is one. This is the reason for the celebration of Gita Jayanti not only in India but also across the World.

The Mahabharata battle provides the backdrop for Shrimad Bhagavad Gita. Arjuna, the great hero of the Mahabharata, dreaded the issues he met in life, and Kshatriya, just like a normal man becomes perplexed by his problems and, rather than facing them, decides to run away from them. Confused with Dharma, we all get upset in a condition of ambiguity and/or try to escape from our difficulties, much like Arjuna.

On the first day of the Mahabharata, the warrior Arjuna got confused and scared by seeing his teachers, brothers, and relatives in the opposition on the battlefield. Seeing all these, Arjuna felt agitated and trembled as he lost his temper and lowered his weapons, and came into sadness, ignoring his obligations as a Kshatriya. He said to Krishna that he is unable to take part in the battle.

Watching Arjun in grief, Lord Krishna enlightened Arjuna’s mind and explained to him the importance of Karma, and reminded his responsibilities as a Kshatriya. Lord Krishna says Karma is a part of everyone’s life and he has to make a life decision. Lord Krishna, who is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, came into his real appearance in front of Arjuna and thus taught him the mysteries of Life and Creation. The Gita was founded on a dialogue between Arjuna and Lord Krishna and this is the legend of Gita Jayanti.

GITA JAYANTI SPEECH

The birth anniversary of any book is not celebrated in any religion or sect of the world. In Hinduism also, the tradition of celebrating only Gita Jayanti is going on since ancient times because other texts have been written or compiled by a human whereas Gita itself is born from Shrimukh of Shri Bhagwan Himself-

Gita Jayanti is a major festival, the place of Gita has been paramount in Hindu mythological texts. The book of Gita was originated in Kurukshetra on the Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Margashirsha. Gita Jayanti, this day is celebrated as the symbolic birth anniversary of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita. The Gita arrives at the time of Mahabharata, showing Arjuna the path of knowledge by Shri Krishna. The knowledge accumulated in eighteen small chapters in this book has been valuable to mankind.

By giving knowledge of Gita to Arjuna, he established the importance of karma, thus performing many tasks and guided everyone as a great era changer. Ekadashi of Margashirsha Shukla Paksha is also called Mokshada Ekadashi along with Gita Jayanti. According to the name of Ekadashi, the person who observes the fast of Mokshada Ekadashi gets the chances of attaining salvation.

Gita i.e. the wangyin form of melody and beauty, emanating from the mouthpiece of Yogeshwar Shri Krishna! Lord Gopalkrishna’s Prem Murli enchanted everyone in Gokul, while Yogeshwar Krishna’s Gyan Murli Geeta inspired Arjuna to fight on the battlefield of Kurukshetra.

Gita expressing the concept of Karma is as relevant from time immemorial as it was then. Thoughts have been presented in a very simple and effective way through logical approach, a detailed and detailed description is obtained on the secret knowledge of the world and the importance of the soul.

In the Gita, solving the mysteries of various questions arising in the mind of Arjuna, Shri Krishna instructs him on the right and wrong path. Man in the world is bound by the bondage of Karmas and on this basis he has to choose one of the two paths of these Karmas. Along with this, explaining the essence of God in detail, he solves Arjuna’s doubts and becomes the basis of Gita.

By reading, listening and meditating on the Bhagavad Gita, feelings of superiority come in life. The Gita is not only tied in a red cloth to be kept at home but to read it and imbibe the messages. Contemplation of Gita leads to self-knowledge by removing the behavior of ignorance. The Gita is the breath of God and the faith of the devotees.

Gita is a wonderful storehouse of knowledge. We all want instant results in every work, but God has said that without patience, there will be no retirement from ignorance, sorrow, attachment, anger, lust, and greed.

Gita is the scripture of auspicious life. Gita is not just a book, it is a wonderful and unique medium to destroy the sins of Kaliyug. One who does not have the knowledge of Gita in his life is worse than an animal. Devotion should start from childhood. In the last moment it becomes difficult even to take the name of God.

The Gita expresses the nature of the soul and the Supreme Soul. By receiving the teachings of Krishna, Arjuna attains that supreme knowledge which removes all his doubts and helps him to move towards action. Through the thoughts of Gita, man gets proper understanding, it determines the soul element and paves the way for its attainment. In today’s time, by getting this knowledge one can be freed from many disorders.

Today, when man is engrossed in enjoyment, material pleasures, and lust and is engaged in harming each other, then the emergence of this knowledge can free him from all darkness because as long as man is in the slavery of senses, from material attractions. surrounded, and is not free from fear, attachment, malice and anger, until then he cannot attain the path of peace and liberation.

Including, there are many such shlokas, by reading and understanding their meaning, man not only gets freedom from the sufferings of life, but also attains the path of life, the knowledge of which was given to Arjuna by Lord Krishna himself, the knower of the world.

Gita is the book of auspicious life. Geeta teaches to die, it makes life blessed. Gita is not only a religious book, it is a unique life book. For the upliftment of life, every person should study it. Geeta is a divine book. It inspires us to move from escape to effort.

Short speech on Geeta Jayanti

The birth anniversary of any book is not celebrated in any religion or sect of the world. Even in Hinduism, the tradition of celebrating only Gita Jayanti has been going on since ancient times, because other texts have been written or compiled by some human being, while the Gita itself has been born from the mouth of the Lord.

According to Brahmapuran, Marshish Shukla Ekadashi has great importance. In the Dwapar Yuga, Lord Krishna preached the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna on this day. That is why this date is also famous as “Gita Jayanti”. And this Ekadashi is called “Mokshada Ekadashi”. By making Arjuna an instrument, God has made an eternal effort to make the human beings of the world oriented towards life through the knowledge of Gita.

Gita i.e. the wangyin form of melody and beauty, emanating from the mouthpiece of Yogeshwar Shri Krishna! Lord Gopalkrishna’s Prem Murli enchanted everyone in Gokul, while Yogeshwar Krishna’s Gyan Murli Geeta inspired Arjuna to fight on the battlefield of Kurukshetra.

Contemplation of Gita leads to self-knowledge by removing the behavior of ignorance. The Gita is the breath of God and the faith of the devotees. Gita is the book of a happy life. Gita is not only a scripture, it is a wonderful and unique means of eradicating the sins of Kali Yuga. One who does not know the Gita in his life is worse than an animal. Bhakti should start from childhood. At the last moment, even taking the name of God becomes difficult.

Gita is the book of auspicious life. Geeta teaches both to die and to live, it makes life blessed. Gita is not only a religious book, it is a unique life book. For the upliftment of life, every person should study it. Geeta is a divine book. It inspires us to move from escape to effort.

We bring Gita to our house by tying it in a red cloth. Today, if anyone is asked, everyone will say that we have Gita in our house, but is there Gita in your life? It is not easy to understand the secrets of Gita, but we cannot stop understanding them after thinking this, can we not? Just like there is a bottomless ocean, some one takes away a churu, some one takes away a pot, and some one takes away a jug, It depends on the capability of the carrier. Gita is like this, how much we can get depends only on us.

We should keep asking ourselves why we are born? Life is not only for crying, life is not only for eating and drinking, not for running away, it is for laughing, it is for playing, It is to fight the difficulties with courage, to encourage others also by following the knowledge that God is giving us through the medium of Gita.

Thank you…
